Day 1 – Arrival in Harare
Arrive at Harare International Airport, where you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to Sunbird Guest Cottages — a peaceful, suburban oasis set in leafy gardens on the edge of the city.
Settle into your Zimbabwean journey as you watch the birdlife from your verandah or shaded gazebo, or unwind by the pool with a good book and a cold drink in hand. The perfect place to rest and acclimatise before the adventure begins in earnest on Day 2.

Day 2 – Travel to Mhara River Camp
Today you journey into the rugged Zambezi Valley, travelling by road or air to Mhara River Camp — your base for the next five nights. Set within a private concession in Mana Pools National Park, the camp offers both exclusivity and immersion, surrounded by stunning landscapes and abundant birdlife.
Enjoy a warm welcome, settle into your tented accommodation, and take in your first game drive or guided walk.

Day 3–5 – Birding in the Zambezi Valley
Spend three full days exploring the Zambezi Valley’s diverse habitats — riverine forest, mopane woodland, floodplains and rocky gorges. These landscapes offer both exceptional birding and the thrill of big game encounters.
Search for key species like African Pitta, African Broadbill, Lilian’s Lovebird and Southern Carmine Bee-eater, while guided game drives and walks offer chances to spot elephants, lions, leopards and more within the camp’s private concession.

Day 6 – Return to Harare
All good things must come to an end.
With a bird list bursting with new lifers, it’s time to make the journey back to Harare.Depart Mhara River Camp by road or air to return to Harare for your onward journey.
